Imagine being a 30-year-old married woman, dedicated to your career and striving to excel in your professional life, only to be met with a barrage of insensitive & derogatory remarks about wives from your colleagues.
Why is it that wives, & by extension, marriage, are often the target of ridicule and mockery?
Wife jokes might seem harmless, but they're actually hurtful. They reinforce old-fashioned ideas about women and marriage, making it seem like it's okay to disrespect wives. This kind of humor isn't just unfunny – it's unfair. And mind you, they are literally coming from women themselves. The sad part is these so called men do not even take a stand for their wives. Like really ?
Why do people still make these jokes? I think it’s because of old stereotypes & sexist attitudes that have been around for ages. But it's time to change that. We need to stop using wives as the butt of jokes & start treating each other with respect.
Respect, equality, and empathy in our conversations, and to build a world where all are valued and treated with dignity and fairness - is this too much to ask for from ‘matured’ 30+ year old's ?
Everyday I realize why I don't vibe with these people!
