Goa Archives

I recently visited Goa with my husband. It was a 5-day trip and totally unplanned. We hadn't been on any honeymoon per-say and were so busy setting up the house for almost a month after our marriage, so it was a much needed break for both of us. Anyways, unplanned trips are always the best because planned trips to GOA never happen and you know it!

We were staying at Amigo Plaza - its a beautiful resort in South Goa near Colva beach. Staying at South Goa was my decision because it's less crowded and peaceful and moreover both of us are not party freaks, so we wanted to stay away from North Goa's chaos and crowd.
We did however have 1 day dedicated to cover North Goa's beauty, more on that later. We had rented a scooty and were roaming around in it, it's a very economic option for tourists. One can even rent cars - either with drivers or self-drive ones.

On the first day of reaching Goa, we visited Cabo-de-Rama fort. I've been there on my earlier trip to Goa as well and there was no way I was gonna miss it. What a lovely place it is. And, the rains added to it's beauty and how! Had maggi, nimboo-pani and chai on our way while climbing back up. Rains, maggi and chai are LOVE, literally! We spent the evening at the resort itself.

Next day's plan was to travel to North Goa and spend the day there, therefore we had to wake up early.
After driving for 50+ kms and some back pain, we reached and the first tourist spot we went to was the very famous 'Dil chahta hai fort' aka Chapora fort. The fort is built over the Chapora river and has some history associated to it. What a beautiful view it was to witness from the top of the fort.
We covered 3 beaches too on the same day - Baga beach, Anjuna beach, Calangute beach. We spent enough time on each of them as we had the entire day to us. Chilling around the beach, clicking pictures, enjoying the weather of goa and good food, everything was perfect. At around 9pm in the night, we left for our resort as it was again a ride of 50+ kms. And there was no way I was gonna drive because I had had enough of the driving in the morning, poor husband had to drive.
The ride back to the resort was an adventure in itself, we were driving on NH 66, heavy rains, extreme cold, no road lights, I literally had maps on 1 hand and mobile torch on the other. But it was fun, one must have such experiences in life too.
On the 3rd & 4th day, we had to work from goa, yes you read it correct, Work-From-Goa. We did not have leaves as we had already taken enough leaves for our marriage. So we spent time working on the pool side and covered a few more spots from South Goa itself in the evenings like Colva beach, Goa Chitra mueseum, local markets etc.
On the 5th day, we left for Pune by bus.
All in all, it was a nice short getaway to Goa, away from the boring work-from-home life.
I am not a travel freak, my husband is. Infact, I am such an introvert and usually spend time at home all by myself. But lately, i've started developing interest in travelling as well, thanks to pati-dev. It feels good to have your partner by your side & travel, make memories, click pictures, spend time and discuss about your future, about life, plan about your life goals, etc.

Oh, and I'm documenting this so that I can sip a cup of tea and cherish these moments of my life whenI'm old.

P.S. Covid negative RTPCR reports were compulsary to submit during entry and exit from GOA.
